A little bit of personal work for the SCBWI Draw This Challenge for the topic 'Wild'.
Yup. That's right. I went there.
Here is the final published Puzzle Spread Illustration for the March edition of Chickadee/ Owl Kids!
(It is possible that these two wandered into the scene... ;) )
Final published piece for the January/February 2017 issue of Chirp Magazine (Owl Kids). Poem written by Bowman Wilker. Creative direction by Faith Cochran. See the original illustrations in my portfolio.
It's great to get to go on a little adventure. Even from your little, messy studio. Here is a illustrated spread I did for the 'Jungle' edition of Chirp (Owl Kids). Published November 2016.
Creative direction by Faith Cochran.
I hope everyone is having a great summer so far! Here is my latest Chirp illustration for the July 'Splash into Summer' issue.
Getting some time to do some personal work, but love prompts!
In my world, there is usually only coffee. But knowing some of the delicious things other people eat all over the world, I might be convinced to lift a fork to my mouth in the morning.

I hope everyone is having a great Spring Break! Here is my first illustration for Chickadee Magazine (Owl Kids). It's a board game chock-full of fun suggestions of how to pass the time.
Hope y'all are having a great time with friends and family!
Well happy belated New Year! (Can a new year greetings be belated, if you're still in it?)
Happy January 11th!
Got the family together to create for Illustration Friday. Our time limit - 1 hour. Our topic: Nefarious. (Which kinda just translated to "Bad Guys".)
Nailed it. (A pink spider with a poor choice of hat always does...)
This morning I woke up to some really great news: I'd been chosen as a semi-finalist for Lilla Rogers' Global Talent Search! Yay! I can cross something off my bucket list!
This is an international competition and I was chosen among 999 really, REALLY wonderful entries, many of which I'd hang on my wall in a heartbeat. The prizes, judges and last year's winner (my fellow MATS classmate) are fantastic.
The "assignment" was to create some wall art, using the theme terrarium and include some hand lettering. Below is what I came up with.
Wish me luck as this week is going to be a doozy: I've received the brief for Round 2 of the competition (exciting...but I'm pretty sure I'm going to over think it); I'm finishing (fingers crossed) illustrations for a big client...and we're moving. Virtual high-fives to my husband & parents. I'm going to owe you.
Stay tuned! You can see what I come up with at the next gallery on Sept 8th.
Fun commission for cross-promoting some great events in August.
Mostly done, except for a few that are "thinking about it..."
